BOARD MEETING Tues 22nd April 2026

Welcome to new members, L Sutherland, P Quinn, C Whittaker who showed interest after the AGM in becoming Board Directors. The Board then seconded them to the vacant positions

BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MEETING

1. Pie & Soup – went well with 24 teams entered. Next one due 23rd April with 12 teams entered.
2. Ski Club – Tues 14th April with 84 in attendance @ $5 per head. All enjoyed the night. Golf Club happy with the support of Golf Bowls. Yvonne messaged to thank them for the night & also the members that helped. It was very well received.
3. NDPA Meeting – Sandwiches to remain for weekend pennant. Live scoring for Div 1.
4. 60+ May 18th, 20th and 22nd – Josh Thornton contacted and will supply someone to oversee the days allocated (possibly Sam Rogers). Live scoring will mean no cards to be done. Monday 18th – mixed pairs (12 rinks), Wednesday 20th – singles (14 rinks), Friday 22nd – pairs (12 rinks). Pat Quinn to do the Welcome on Monday 18th and Friday 22nd. Ian Coates to do the Welcome on Wednesday 20th. Markers not needed. Linda McManus to organise catering. Pat Quinn, Graeme (Tucker) Peace to organise bar.
5. Street Raffle – Thanks to everyone for support. We raised $1,000.
6. Presentation Night – Combined with the AGM. Went well. 41 attended AGM. 71 attended Presentation. Was very well received. Dennis & Wendy McGlone were very happy to attend the Bar.



TREASURERS REPORT
Treasurer reported a cheque balance of $629.25. Paid 25% of Golf Club account ($17,000). Total Income $8,297.70. Total expenses $21,296.19. Mary to do a comparable month to month against last year’s financials. Comparison between financials from previous year – decrease in bowls fees, bar sales and raffles. Increase in drinks charges, greens charges, repairs and maintenance, Golf Club contribution and wages.

GENERAL BUSINESS
1. Selectors – Expression of interest being sought for Saturday and Midweek pennant. To be put on Team App
2. Pennant figures to date – Saturday - 54 definites with 3 emergencies. Up from last year. Midweek – 21 definites with 3 or 4 maybes. Decisions to be made midyear.
3. Soft drink price – Increase price
4. Tuesday social prize money - $10 prize money, dropped from $15
5. Members to fill jobs – buying soft drinks, publicity (Ask Peter), team app etc. – Craig Whittaker happy to continue restocking the beers. Expression of interest to be put on Team App.
6. Dates to be decided at next meeting – Echuca (20/9) and Cohuna (25/9) practice matches. Presentation night/AGM (Thurs 8/4) Tournament dates seem OK.
7. New membership – Brian (Bunny) Fehring approved
8. Discussion around approval of new members and Code of Conduct
9. Tournament Secretary – Ian Coates. Match 1 – John Keely and Gavan Free.
10. Congratulations to Rodney Fletcher, Frank Tonn, Ian Howard and Mick Carmody for reaching the semi-final of the State 4’s.
11. Fridges in BBQ area to be left on over winter.
12. Policy Folder for next season – Margot Henty to look at.
13. Tap & Go requirement for BBQ area - Further investigation and if access for internet is available.
